I love words—the way they sound, the way they work together to convey ideas, the challenge of finding just the right one to express a thought. I have been working with words since 1989, first as an English teacher and now as an editor and writer.
My editing specialty is nonfiction—biography/memoir, education, how-to, self-help, and young adult in particular. I love helping writers produce books they're proud of. To this end, I offer stylistic and mechanical editing to improve readability, fix mistakes, and ensure clarity. Since 2006, I have worked on 175+ projects for independent authors, traditional publishers, and editing services companies all over the United States.
My writing focus is educational nonfiction for children and young adults. Among my published books are biographies on Malcolm X and Pocahontas, an award-winning book on economies around the world, and a 356-page informational text for high school athletes.
Update: Sports: The Ultimate Teen Guide is now available in paperback! VOYA describes it as "an easy-to-read, approachable book about sports and why they matter for high school students." Click here to check out the book and reader reviews on Amazon.
Your copy editor is amazing, my hat is off to her for her accuracy and train of thought.—David Gething, author of "Relentless: Seven Marathons, Seven Continents, Seven Days" (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016)
